Reading List

As well as keeping updated with fashion news and blogger trends, I still think theres nothing more important than reading books and novels. In recent years reading books has taken a backseat in my life, but this year I rediscovered my love of curling up with a good book.

I decided it was time that I looked at reading classic novels like Catch-22, The Great Gatsby and 1984, but wanted to make sure I made time for reads such as Kelly Cultrone's If You're Going to Cry, Go Outside - which turned out to be excellent! Although I am slightly behind on reading some of the more recent 'Top 100' contenders, I intend to read my heart out whilst I have more time at university. I have a huge list of books I want to read, but I already have a few in waiting that I've purchased over the last few months and should really get those read before I aspire to read anymore!

I drive into Birmingham city centre every day for university or work, so instead of listening to the same four songs Radio One seem to play constantly, I have started listening to audiobooks - you'd be surprised how something that could seem so insignificant can actually make driving less stressful. And I've actually found myself buying books based around positivity, inducing reads like Ask & It Is Given, which I cannot recommend enough if you're a firm believer in the Law Of Attraction like me.

Books read so far this year:
Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
1984 - George Orwell
The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
Think & Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill (Audiobook)
If You're Going to Cry, Go Outside - Kelly Cultrone
The Devil Wears Prada - Laura Weisberger
The Harry Potter series - J.K Rowling (a continuing love affair)
A Culture of Conspiracy - Michael Barcun (research)
To Die For - Lucy Siegle (research)
Ask and It Is Given - Esther & Jerry Hicks

So proud of myself!

Currently reading: Inferno - Dan Brown (Audiobook),  and The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitsgerald

Next to read: The Hunger Games Trilogy - Suzanne Collins

Books in waiting on my bookshelf:
Philosophy For Life - Jules Evans
The Present - Spencer Johnson
Change Your Life in 7 Days - Paul McKenna
The Illiad - Homer

After this list, I really want to delve into some of the Dalai Lama's books too.
What book are you currently reading? Do you have a particular genre or author you're drawn towards? Or do you read based on recommendation or populism?
